If u thought that Mayakkam Enna was the best potrayal of the rare and deep love that exists between a boy and a girl then 3 will defnitely change ur opinion of tat . Aishwarya .R. Dhanush has sculptured a gorgeous love story that can ever exist in between 2 mutual loving hearts , Ram ♥ Janani .
The story starts with the blossoming of Love in school days ( Idalin oru oram...) that gradually grows and strengthens in coll and finally leads to marriage in a BAR (Come on girls ...)....yup u heard that right. There ends the first half of the movie. Second half, Say hello to a new disease in Tamil Film Industry - BIPOLAR DISORDER (not to be confused with split personality ). Ram comes to know of this rare disease he has from his friend who explains to him about the erratic behaviour Ram has undergone unknown to him. He forbids his friend from telling the truth to Janani as he fears the truth would pain her to the core and he will not be able to bear that. Wat seems to have been a noble decision at tat time soon leads to his demise.He starts distancing himself from janani fearing his maniac behaviour may end in hurting her (Po nee Po ...). Janani realises that something is not right and finally confronts him and ends up breaking down in front of him , begging him to share wats troubling him . The emotional breakdown of hers leads Ram to another maniac state which would have ended with a knife to janani's face if not for the timely arrival of his friend. Once Ram realises wat he had been fearing for a long time had almost come true he decides that he can no longer live in the world where he himself wud become a Threat to only person who means everything to him and ends up with taking his life.
If he had shared his problem with Janani or if he had got got proper medical attention at the right time coud the final end have been deffrent ??? Well it wud always make us wonder . One could argue tat as to why he didnt get proper medical attention and get cured. But hey , the guy is seriously unstable in mind . Unlike you , A rationale decision wud have been impossible for him to take. It all comes down to the moral of the movie tat suicide is never an option for anything.
Dhanush is phenomenal through out the movie. His acting talents has really peaked. My god this guy can act. Mayakkam Enna can just be considered as a teaser to this guy's talent . Minblowing performance by him , especially in the last 10 min , WOW .
Shruthi Hasan looks ravishing in each and every frame of the movie . Fits perfectly for the role, no other heroine could have done this role better than her. And about the scenes where she cries , some say thats it was irritating and she looked damn ugly when she did that . I beg to differ . My ques is , Could any other actress cry like that ? as if the entire soul has been ripped off from her . The pain of losing ur most beloved one , could anyone else have shown it like her ??? . Well I think not .
BGM and music Score by the new Guy "Anirudh" is astounding . I think the whole world knows it from "Kolaveri" :-) So need to expand on tat . To put it in a nutshell : Mindblowing . Bcos whomever be the actor , finally its the music that moves you and pushes u to the verge of tears.
Be it the camera angle or the way the story has been moved , screenplay and everything there is a touch of Sevaragavan throughout. Side effects of working as a assisant to him. Huh !!! The expert touches are here and there. I mean u can take one look at the movie and decide tat its not the work of an amateur. I mean not everything was explained by words alone . A lot of the scenes has to be guessed . For eg : When the Inspector comes and tells than according to the PM ( Post Mortem) report it was not murder as they tot it was , but Suicide . Thats the beauty of the film.
It doesnt give importance to the minor details like the school names , the marks they got , the coll they studied at all. The movie just revolves around Ram and Janani and the love between them while the trivial things had to be guessed from the backgound. I think thats a huge plus. No dream sequence songs in some foreign countires too...Thank god !!
This is no commercial film with superhuman fights ,cheesy dialouges and glamorous songs . This is pro movie which one shud take the time and patience to really soak it up . I mean seriously guys , if u dont like the movie please keep it to urself in Theaters while others are watchin the movie. I mean , U may not be mature enof to understand the movie but others who do wud really be disturbed with ur constant "u think FUNNY comments " ...sheesh !! . I was so disturbed the first time by a guy (who was sitting befor me) who kept on loud pathetic comments just bcos the girls who had come with him were laughing , that i had to watch it again in order to get the feel.
Rumour has it tat the movie is from a book "Life is as u make it " by Preethy Shenoy . Dont know how far its true . But if the movie is this good who cares where its from. And i was kind of expecting that movie wud reflect Aishwarya's own story , With simbu :-P ..I was searching for clues through out the movie but couldn t find any ..So :-)
Overall : An Excellent potrayal of love . Mayakkam Enna just showed the strength of a girl's love. While 3 shows the depth of a boy's Love too. The girl loves him like he is her oxygen while the guy loves her as if she is her next breadth . Hats off to Aishwarya.R.Dhanush . An excellent director in making
